Sexy Christmas Gifts

Want to spice up your holiday season? Maybe you have a special someone in your life that you want to give a special gift to? Or maybe you want some sensual fun for yourself. Here are some sexy Christmas/Hanukkah/Seasonal gifts available from Eden Fantasys.

Vibrators are a favorite sex toy, and Eden Fantasys has some that are especially appropriate for the holidays.

The Holiday Ball Santa Duckie by Rub My Duckie is an adorable gift that can also serve as a Christmas ornament. This discreet vibrator looks more like a toy than a vibrator, but it can definitely add some vroom to your holidays.

If you prefer a slightly more sophisticated version, there is the Holiday Ball Gold Duckie.

Maybe a more traditional vibrator is what you're looking for. Check out the Seduction Holiday Edition by Evolved Novelties. It is a lovely shade of holiday red and comes in a sleek metal and plastic box that makes a great place to store your vibrator.

There's also the Little Chroma by JimmyJane which comes in red, black and magenta. The red one makes an excellent Christmas gift.

And if you want to give (or receive) something with a little bling, there is the Red Diamond Princess by Evolved Novelties.

This cute little set of red and green finger vibrators by Feelztoys is also very holiday appropriate.

And this Candy Cane vibrator by Doc Johnson is certainly festive.

If vibrators aren't what you're looking for, there are also a wide variety of dildos, anal toys and other sexy products that make great holiday gifts.

This borosilicate glass Candy Cane dildo by Don Wands looks more like a Christmas ornament than a sex toy, but it can be a sweet treat with which to surprise your special someone.

For the more daring, there is the Solid Shaft dildo by Phallix which has a tasty candy cane swirl around its shaft.

And for the real animals out there, there is the Tiger by Fun Factory which comes in both red and black. The red version could certainly make your lover growl in pleasure.

For the anally adventurous, there is the Nexus G-Rider prostate massager by LB Trading Ltd. It was specifically designed to stimulate the male g-spot or p-spot, but it works equally well for female stimulation either anally or vaginally.

There's also the Anal Tool by Doc Johnson which comes in holiday colors of red and gold.

For someone who already has a good collection of sex toys, the Holiday Hide-a-Gift Pillow could be very useful. It's a throw pillow with a special pocket to secretly store a special sex toy.

Or perhaps you would like to engage in a little BDSM under the mistletoe with this Christmas BDSM kit by Pipedream. It includes a pair of wrist cuffs, a pair of ankle cuffs, a blindfold and a santa hat.

This nifty Naughty or Nice Blindfold, which can also be used as a simple sleep mask, would make a nice(or naughty) gift for the right person.

And for the girls who want to have fun with their strap on dildoes during the holidays, this gorgeous Minx Double Strap Harness in red would make a perfect Christmas gift.

Combining Paranormal Fantasy with Erotic Fantasy to Create Your Dream Lover

A review of Dream Lover:Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance edited by Kristina Wright

Dream Lover is a fun and exciting anthology of paranormal erotic fiction. If you've ever read a paranormal romance, you have a good idea of what paranormal erotica involves. Yes, there are the usual vampires and werewolves, but there are also fairies and gargoyles and ghosts, oh my! The editor, Kristina Wright, has done a masterful job of choosing and arranging stories with a wide variety of fantasy elements and steamy sexual scenarios.

The foreword to Dream Lover was written by Megan Hart, author of the novel Tempted. She explains how incorporating paranormal elements in erotic fiction is simply a way of taking the usual fantasy of erotica just one step farther. If you normally skip reading the forewords to books, you should read this one. (Actually, you should always read them. They're there for a reason.) Megan's writing is inviting and informative, with fun lines like,”Paranormal romance takes the monster out from under the bed and puts him right there next to us on the pillow – and we love it.”

Kristina Wright gives a brief introduction explaining her fascination with Stephen King and the paranormal, and then there are the stories. Although, the final story, “Thief of Dreams” does involve BDSM, most of the stories included in Dream Lover involve fairly vanilla – aside from the paranormal elements – heterosexual encounters. If you are looking for lots of BDSM or lesbian/gay stories, you might want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for some steamy straight action with a heavy dose of fantasy, then this is the book for you. The paranormal elements in the stories vary from lightly humorous fairy tales to darkly disturbing urban fantasy and everything in between.

The following is a list of the stories and their authors: (**You can read short summaries of each story in the “Summaries of Stories in Dream Lover” post.)

“Love Resurrection” by Justine Elyot
“Dreaming by the Sea” by Delilah Devlin
“Devil's Food” by Shanna Germain
“Rainmaker” by A. D. R. Forte
“Shattered Belle” by Craig Sorensen
“Living Off Lovers” by Kristina Lloyd
“Where the Heart Is” by Saskia Walker
“Freeing the Demon” by Sacchi Green
“Old-Fashioned Glamour” by Nikki Magennis
“Moongirl Meets the Wolfman” by Alana Noel Voth
“Vanilla” by Victoria Jannsen
“For Human's, Love's All About Weight” by Lana Fox
“Succubus Comes Home” by Lucy Felthouse
“Folly” by Kate Pearce
“Lust As Old As Us” by Madeline Moore
“The Eye of Pearl” by Ericka Hiatt
“Thief of Dreams” by Kristina Wright

At the end of the book, there are very brief biographies about each author and a slightly longer biography of editor, Kristina Wright. Kristina has previously edited, Fairy Tale Lust: Erotic Fantasies For Women and Steamlust: Steampunk Erotic Romance. Her latest anthology Best Erotic Romance will be released this December and Lustfullly Ever After: Fairy Tale Erotic Romance will be released in 2012.

In addition to editing anthologies, Kristina has also written quite a few stories herself, which have appeared in over eighty print anthologies. She won the Golden Heart Award for Romantic Suspense from the Romance Writers of America for her first novel, Dangerous Curves. She has degrees in both English and the Humanities and teaches at community college. You can find out more about her on her website: kristinawright.com

The book, Dream Lover, is a nice quality, trade size paperback with a glossy cover measuring 8” tall, 5.5” wide and .75” thick. (Trade paperbacks come in a variety of sizes; mass market paperbacks used to always be 6.75” tall by 4.125” wide with varying thickness. Now, some mass market books are 7.5” tall, which really messes up the way the books look and fit on my bookshelves.)

The cover of the book depicts a man and woman in silhouette about to kiss, with the title Dream Lover in a romantic red font. It's a pretty innocuous cover. The only thing that reveals its steamy contents is the subtitle, Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance, which is in a smaller blue font that is not terribly obvious. Information about the editor and foreword are in a plain white sanserif font on the lower right corner of the cover.

The back of the book has a much darker version of the same image as the front, with the usual blurb in plain white text and a couple of complimentary quotes in pale blue and pink. I would be comfortable reading this book in just about any setting where reading a romance book would be acceptable.

I had been looking forward to getting a copy of Dream Lover ever since I first heard about it, and I was NOT disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this anthology. Of course, I liked some stories better than others. The delectably disturbing darkness of Sacchi Green's “Freeing the Demon” appealed to my inner goth. While the salacious silliness of the talking frog in Shanna Germain's “Devil's Food” added a wonderful whimsy to her erotic fairy tale that I couldn't help but enjoy. Other stories, I liked rather less. I simply could not relate to either of the characters in Craig Sorensen's “Shattered Belle”. However, all the stories were competently written, and how well you like each story will probably just depend on your personal tastes.

If you like fantasy books or paranormal romances, and you enjoy erotic fiction, I highly recommend buying a copy of Dream Lover and curling up with it for a truly fantastic erotic experience.

Summaries of the Stories in "Dream Lover" by Kristina Wright

To read my actual review of Dream Lover, check out the post,”Combining Paranormal Fantasy with Erotic Fantasy to Create Your Dream Lover.” This post simply provides short summaries of each story in the anthology.

The first story of the anthology is “Love Resurrection” by Justine Elyot. In the very beginning of this story, the way the writing changes from future tense to present tense, creating first a sense of anticipation, then participation, is an elegant introduction to this tale of literary obsession and ghostly possession.

In “Dreaming by the Sea” by Delilah Devlin, a mermaid who has misplaced her memory is finally found by an old flame who reminds her of the pleasures a lover can provide.

The playful descriptions and characters created by Shanna Germain in her story “Devil's Food” were truly delectable. “Most people walked in and looked straightaway at the bakery case, eyeing the cookies and cakes, the fruit breads and glazed rolls. They bent down, tapping the glass as though the goodies might swim their way.” In this sweet tale, a mysterious man is more interested in the baker than in the goodies she sells.

The language and the sex in “Rainmaker” by A. D. R. Forte is raw and unromantic, but has the intensity of a sudden stroke of lightning. The relationship between to the two main characters brings a literal interpretation to the phrase, “sexual drought”.

“Shattered Belle” by Craig Sorensen tells the story of a young man who is trying to find the perfect place to scatter his late lover's ashes. He stumbles upon a literal ghost town where the local ghost is unwillingly attracted to his desperately lonesome despair.

Probably the creepiest story in this anthology is “Living Off Lovers” by Kristina Lloyd. Two of the last tenants of a rapidly decaying apartment building are inexorably drawn together to fulfill the roles of two long dead lovers. This story truly combines horror and erotica.

In “Where the Heart Is” by Saskia Walker, a young woman drawn to the lonely moors of Yorkshire discovers a vampire that is not suave and sophisticated, but fierce and feral. Yet, he is exactly what she has been searching for all these years.

My favorite story in the anthology, Sacchi Green's “Freeing the Demon,” is a dark and disturbing tale of a prostitute's relationship with a demonic gargoyle.

In “Old-Fashioned Glamour”, Nikki Magennis describes what happens when a witch returns to her high school reunion, despite the dangers, in order to catch a glimpse of the lost love she left behind.

Alana Noel Voth explores the self-conflict that shape-changers experience when indulging their more bestial hungers in “Moongirl Meets the Wolfman.” More thought-provoking than arousing, in my opinion. It can possibly be interpreted as a metaphor for the conflict between how society expects us to behave and how we really want to behave, in the bedroom and elsewhere.

In what is probably the most purely erotic of the stories in this anthology, the telepath in Victoria Jannsen's “Vanilla” discovers the joys of communicating body to body rather than mind to mind.

In “For Human's, Loves All About Weight” by Lana Fox, a lonely woman has a magical experience when she frees a caged bird, and he transforms into a beautiful winged man.

Lucy Felthouse's light-hearted tale,”Succubus Comes Home” answers the age-old question – who seduces the succubus?

The paranormal elements of “Folly” by Kate Pearce are somewhat esoteric. However, it could be described as a sort of gender-reversed interpretation of the tale of Rapunzel. In this case, it's a lonely man trapped in the tower.

“Lust as Old As Us” by Madeline Moore is a more traditional vampire story. It it, a middle-aged woman reminisces about her affair with a vampire when she was young and wild.

The hero of “The Eye of Pearl” by Ericka Hiatt is a woman after my own heart, or rather after the heart of the demon who threatens her elven lover's life. She's the type of woman who never lets anyone take her for granted, not even the man she loves with all of her warrior's heart.

In “Thief of Dreams” by Kristina Wright, an insomniac discovers that the man of her dreams is actually a fallen angel who can fulfill even the dark desires she dares not admit to herself. As the only story in this book that deals with BDSM, it makes a strong finale to the anthology.

Eve's Side of the Story

I received this story in my email and simply had to share it with you. Sorry, but I have no idea who the original author is. I would give them credit if I could.

EVE'S SIDE OF THE STORY

After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve. “So, how is everything going?” inquired God.

“It is all so beautiful, God,” she replied. “The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. The smells, the sights, everything is wonderful. But I have just one problem...

“It's these breasts you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out, and I am constantly knocking them with my arms, catching them on branches and snagging them on bushes. They're a real pain.”

And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body came in pairs, such as her arms, legs, eyes and ears; she felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more 'symmetrically balanced'.

“That's a fair point,” replied God, “But it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, and I figured that you needed at least half that number. However, I see that you are correct about three breasts being a problem. I will fix that up right away.“

And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into the bushes.

Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of Eden.

“Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?”

“Just fantastic,” she replied, “But for one oversight. You see, all the animals are paired off. The ewe has her ram, the cow has her bull and the goose has her gander. All the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone.”

God thought for a moment and said, “You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Let's see....where did I put that useless boob ?”

Now doesn't THAT make more sense than the rib story?
